2001-2003: Freelance Art Director, Los Angeles CA
- Producing Ads, Storyboards, and Comps for many different agencies including WongDoody, Chiat/Day, Anderson/DDB and Young & Rubicam.
1999-2001: Art Director and 3D Animator at mySimon.com, Santa Clara CA
- Was responsible for creating the look and feel of the Simon character as a contractor and was hired fulltime to develop him throughout the site.
- During my time there I completed work on mySimons first TV campaign, rendering three animations and editing in After Effects. Then I redesigned the character while maintaining the original one on the site and worked with the Ad agency and Blur studio to produce a second campaign introducing the new Simon. The effort proved to be very successful, as the site exceeded all projections and was listed by Neilson as the leading consumer comparison site.
1997-1999: Freelance Art Director, San Francisco CA
- Worked on a variety of products for many different agencies, including Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Foote Cone & Belding and J. Walter Thompson. Accounts included 7up, Pac Bell, Budweiser, Butterfinger, Petes Wicked Ale and Taco Bell.
- Produced self-promotional print campaign, "Trickle-Down Theory", which placed in the San Francisco awards show.
- Took classes in computer animation and produced student project called "Gone Fishin'", which was selected from over 600 submissions to be screened at Siggraph'99.
1996-1997: Art Director at TBWA/Chiat-Day, San Francisco CA
- Worked on and produced advertising in all media. Accounts included Orville Redenbacher, AAA, Bank of America, Pac Bell and Ciba-Geigy. I developed concepts for campaigns, illustrated storyboards, pitched ideas to clients and hired Directors, Illustrators and Photographers. Oversaw and approved production, editing, animation and effects for broadcast.
- Won industry award for Triple A commercial "Worriers Anonymous."
- Created and produced satirical webzine which became a finalist in the "Cool Site of the Year" awards for 1997. I placed as a runner-up to the winner, which was "the Onion."
1992-1996: Junior Art Director at Leo Burnett, Chicago IL
- Hired as an Associate Art Director after recruiters saw my work at the Portfolio Center for Art and Design. I pitched and sold various print ads, two large billboard campaigns, and ten TV commercials before leaving for TBWA/Chiat-Day in San Francisco.
- Won industry award for McDonalds commercial "Power Play."
